Todd Russell

Todd Russell has served as Pastor of Mountain Hill Baptist Church since 2017. He is a graduate of Troy State University (B.S.), Mississippi College School of Law (J.D.), and received his Masters of Divinity degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Todd retired from the State of Alabama after serving as Director of the Legal Division of the Administrative Office of Courts and has over 25 years of legal experience. Todd and his wife, Betsy, have been married since 1990 and have three adult children.

Kari Layton
Children's Ministry director
Kari Layton serves as the Children’s Ministry Director at Mountain Hill Baptist Church. With a heart for children and a passion for helping them grow in their faith, Kari is dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment where every child feels loved and valued.
Kari has worked in the field of education for several years and brings her classroom experience into her ministry. She strives to make biblical learning engaging, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate, while partnering with families to build strong spiritual foundations that lead to a faith that stands when tested. She holds closely to Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Kari has been married to Grant since 2015, and they are blessed with their daughter, Rylee. She is grateful and honored to serve the Lord alongside an amazing Children’s Ministry team.
